HOW TO CUT YALE SUPERIOR & MAGNUM KEYS
The Yale Superior / Platinum and Magnum are unique high security keys that are growing in popularity and can be highly rewarding keys to cut. Whilst these keys are designed to be more complex than your average key, the good news is that they are fairly straight forward to cut once you have the correct machine, cutters and knowledge on how to cut them.

Most dimple keys on the market can be cut with a standard laser & dimple machine, however the Yale Superior / Platinum and Magnum keys cannot. In fact, there are only a handful of machines that support these keys and here's why.....

These double sided keys have 2 rows of dimple cuts and 1 simple track cut - all of which have to be cut accurately in order for them to open the lock. The dimple cuts are unique from other dimple keys as they have to be cut at an angle of +/- 13.5 degrees. The top row is cut at -13.5 degrees whilst the middle row is cut at +13.5 degrees. Therefore a laser & dimple machine with synchronised tilting vices is needed.
